Toothpick Bridge Building Contest

The Toothpick Bridge Challenge is a fun, annual event for students in the Sarasota & Manatee County area. Sponsored by local engineering professional societies and run completely by volunteers, the contest awards cash prizes to the most efficient bridge designs every year. The event was started in 1989 as an outreach activity for local engineers who want to inspire students to become interested in science, technology, engineering, and math.
