FIRST TECH CHALLENGE

9 – 12

FIRST Tech Challenge (9-12)

FUNducation supports FIRST® Tech Challenge by forming teams that it either coaches or empowers as part of its mission to expand access to high-quality STEAM programs. In FIRST Tech Challenge, students collaborate with coaches and mentors to design, build, and code a robot to complete a seasonal game. They learn the engineering process, develop teamwork skills, and engage in community outreach, which sets them up for success in STEAM fields after high school.

The Robot Game

Teams design, build, and program a robot to compete on a 12′ x 12′ field in an alliance format.

Engineering Portfolio

Teams document their season journey, including robot design iterations, programming changes, community outreach, team brainstorming sessions, and team meetings.

Community Outreach

Teams connect with their communities to share about FIRST programs and competitions.
